Stock Market Live: Equity benchmark indices were under pressure for a second session on Wednesday after India’s manufacturing activity fell to 55.5 in October, the lowest in eight months. The BSE Sensex fell 170 points to 63,704, and the NSE Nifty50 shed 44 points to 19,035.

Asian Paints, Nestle, Maruti, JSW Steel, UPL, Coal India, Axis Bank and HDFC Bank were the top frontline drags. 

Bharti Airtel fell 1.3 per cent on reporting a 37.5 per cent YoY drop in Q2 consolidated net profit. L&T declined over 3 per cent from its intra-day high on profit booking. 


The broader markets were mixed. The BSE MidCap index held small losses, while the SmallCap pocket was up 0.3 per cent.

 


Among sectors, Nifty Realty was up 1.5 per cent, Auto, FMCG pockets were the other gainers, while the rest held losses.
