Ultraviolette Unveils High-Performance Electric Motorcycle at EICMA 2023

Bengaluru-based electric vehicle manufacturer Ultraviolette has unveiled its latest creation, the F99 electric motorcycle, at the prestigious EICMA 2023 event. This introduction marks the brand’s foray into the world of racing motorcycles, and the F99 promises to be a remarkable addition to their lineup.

Key Features of the Ultraviolette F99 electric bike

The F99 electric motorcycle is equipped with a liquid-cooled powertrain capable of reaching a top speed of 265 kilometers per hour (kmph). It has a decent kerb weight of kerb weight of 178 kilos – not too light, not too heavy.

The F99 race-spec version featured at EICMA has a liquid-cooled a new liquid-cooled motor, generating a peak power of 120 bhp (90 kW), a significant improvement over the F77. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3 seconds and reach a top speed of 265 kmph.

The F99 boasts advanced aerodynamics, including winglets and ducts on the front cowl and side panels, enhancing downforce during cornering. These components are electronically actuated in real-time to adapt to varying lean angles.

This fully-faired electric motorcycle sports a futuristic design with sharp panels, carbon fiber elements, and an integrated air windshield. It also features two front cowl ducts to channel air towards the motor, improving its performance during rides.

Ultraviolette’s Global Launch Plans

Ultraviolette plans to launch the F99 sportsbike globally in 2025, marking its presence on the international stage. The company has stated that the F99 Factory Racing Program will not be limited to racing but also include the production version, which is expected to hit global markets in 2025. The anticipated price is around Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom).
Expansion to the European Market:

In additional news, Ultraviolette Automotive has announced the upcoming availability of the F77 electric motorcycle in Europe. The European variant will be priced between 9,000 to 11,000 Euros, with registrations opening on November 15, 2023. The European-spec F77 shares similar performance figures with the F77 Space Edition launched in August 2023.

The F99 is explicitly designed for track use, featuring slick tires, a mirrorless design, and no provision for a registration plate holder. Its striking appearance draws inspiration from fighter jets, with prominent winglets and signature Ultraviolette lighting.

Notably, the F99 is considerably more powerful, faster, and lighter than Ultraviolette’s earlier road bike, the F77 of which actor Dulquer Salman is a proud owner.

Advanced Technology and Active Aerodynamics

The F99 incorporates weight-saving measures, featuring carbon fiber bodywork and a reduced weight of 178 kilograms, making it one of India’s fastest electric two-wheelers.
An innovative active aerodynamics package includes an ‘air windshield’ and an electronically-actuated ‘Air-Blade’ to enhance airflow and downforce during cornering.
