LPG Price Hike From November 1: Ahead of the festive season, state-run oil marketing companies Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation, and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation revised the retail prices of commercial LPG—sold in 19-kilogram cylinders— up to Rs 101.5 in the four metros with effect from November 1, 2023.

This is the second time in the past two months that the commercial LPG cylinder prices have been hiked.

With the latest revision, a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder will now cost Rs 1,833 instead of Rs 1,731 in Delhi. In Mumbai, a commercial LPG cylinder will be available at Rs 1,785.50, Rs 1,943 per cylinder in Kolkata and Rs 1,999.50 per cylinder in Chennai.

In October, the prices of commercial LPG cylinders were Rs 1,684 in Mumbai, Rs 1,839.50 in Kolkata and Rs 1,898 in Chennai after the oil companies hiked the rates by Rs 209.

However, the price of domestic LPG, used in household kitchens for cooking purposes, remained unchanged at Rs 903 per 14.2-kg cylinder in Delhi.

  • In Kolkata, the price of 14 kg cylinder is Rs 929. The price of domestic LPG cylinder in Mumbai is Rs 902.5 while in Chennai, domestic gas cylinder is being sold for Rs 918.5.

    Commercial LPG cylinder also became cheaper in September. Oil marketing companies had slashed the prices of 19 kg commercial cylinder by Rs 157 in September, after which this cylinder was sold at Rs 1522.50 in Delhi and Rs 1636 in Kolkata. In August, the prices of commercial LPG gas cylinders were reduced by Rs 100.
