Daniel Balaji, a famous actor in Tamil and Malayalam films, passed away on March 29 in Chennai at the young age of 48 due to cardiac arrest. He was admitted to a hospital after he complained of chest pain and passed away during his treatment. It is reported that he will be laid to rest at his residence in Purasawalkam, Chennai.

The news of his death was shared by Siddarth Srinivas on the social platform X, along with a picture of Daniel. He wrote, “RIP #DanielBalaji, the talented actor passed away an hour ago due to a heart attack. May his soul rest in peace. His voice and his performance in Vettaiyaadu Vilayaadu, Polladhavan, will never be forgotten.”

After his post, many people expressed their sadness and offered condolences to Daniel’s family.

Daniel Balaji started his career in the film industry by working behind the scenes on Kamal Haasan’s unreleased film, Marudhanayagam. He first became known as an actor on the television series Chithi, where he played a character also named Daniel. Because of his impressive performance, he was renamed Daniel Balaji in his next TV series, Alaigal.

His journey in movies began with smaller roles, with his first Tamil film being April Maadhathil. However, he became more well-known after playing a police officer in Kaakha Kaakha, starring Suriya. His big breakthrough came with his role as the villain Amudhan in the hit movie Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu, which starred Kamal Haasan and was about police investigating a series of murders. This role, and his performance as a villain in Polladhavan, starring Dhanush, made him famous. In Polladhavan, his portrayal of a fierce villain was particularly praised and helped him earn recognition as one of the most formidable villains in Tamil cinema.

Daniel also played a villain in Telugu movie Chirutha, with Ram Charan, showing his versatility across different film industries. He then took on a lead role in the movie Muthirai, released in 2009

This action thriller added to his reputation as a skilled actor. Throughout his career, Daniel Balaji was appreciated for his unique voice and powerful performances, making him a memorable actor in the Indian film industry.
