Ilaiyaraaja’s daughter and National Award-winning singer Bhavatharini passed away due to cancer on January 25, and the untimely demise of the 47-year-old shocked her family and friends. Now, Bhavatharini’s cousin brother and director, Venkat Prabhu, remembers the late singer on his Instagram page by sharing his last pictures with his sister. “Bavatha, our last picture together,” wrote Venkat Prabhu, sharing his last picture with Bhavatharini. Venkat Prabhu and Bhavatharini were spotted sharing some lovely bonding in the throwback picture, while in another picture, the duo was spotted together with their family members.

After being diagnosed with cancer, Bhavatharini was treated at a private hospital in Sri Lanka. Unfortunately, she failed to respond well to the treatment and passed away on January 25. Bhavatharini’s mortal remains were then brought to Chennai on January 27, and she was cremated in the evening. Family members and friends of Bhavatharini paid their last tribute to the talented musician.

Director Suseenthiran’s condolence on Bhavatharani’s demise

Bhavatharini, the daughter of veteran composer Ilaiyaraaja, initially worked as a musician in her father’s musical troop. Then she debuted as a singer and sang songs in multiple languages. The energetic musician later transformed into a composer and scored music for films in Tamil, Telugu, and English. She last sang the song ‘Pannapurathu’ in Seenu Ramasamy‘s directorial ‘Maamanithan’ featuring Vijay Sethupathi in the main role.
